the kates, hosted by Kelsie Huff, are a rotating cast of performers that encompass the distinct voices of several up and coming Chicago comics. The kates provide an intimate night of comedy different from anything you’ll see at a typical Chicago club or late night bar. From darkly amusing musical numbers, the awkward art of clowning, absurd solo performances, and uproarious stand-up comedy, the kates continue to crack up new audiences and ensure that loyal fans come back for more.

The neighborhood is extremely supportive and their generosity has enabled us to grow. Each month the kates boast a new female performer and the audiences at BC are super receptive to new and slightly odd comedians. Due to standing room only houses the kates have added additional monthly shows. Each performance takes place at The Book Cellar, 4736-38 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago, IL.
The kates perform the last Saturday of every month at 7pm and the second Friday of the month at 8pm. Saturday dates include: July 31st, August 28th, and September 25th. NO SATURDAY PERFORMANCES OCTOBER, NOVEMBER OR DECEMBER. Friday dates include: July 9th, August 13th, September 10th, October 8th, November 12th and December 10th.
